Over the weekend I was feeling a little spontaneous. I usually work for most of Saturday and end up going home after and just relaxing for the rest of the day. But, this Saturday I wanted to get out of the house so me and my boyfriend took a late night drive to go to Greeley. Going to Greeley isn’t all that great but they do have this one food place that sells these fruit plates with chile, chamoy, and candy along with these drinks called clamatos preparados. This food place is on the older part of Greeley but it is called La Chanagda. Driving about 30 minutes into a nasty smelling cow town was so worth it. The plate of fruit that I had gotten had all sorts of fruit in it like strawberries, mango’s, watermelon, melon, and cherries. Some of these fruits I would have never thought of eating with chile on top but as soon as I tried it, my taste buds were having a party. My boyfriend though has a different set of taste buds than I do. He likes things that are more salty and the drink he had gotten comes with like a beef jerky in it along with shrimp. Like most girls do I had to try his drink because I didn’t want to get one of my own and things that aren’t yours always taste better. The drink was so soothing and just hit the spot. If you have ever tried like a V8 drink it’s kind of similar to one of those but the place we went adds certain things inside of the drink that makes it so much better.
